Well, the month of spending nothing has been a mixed result. I was doing fine until bills came in the mail. I decided to be pragmatic and pay my bills, rather than sally forth on principle alone. I felt that writing, “Hey sorry TimeWarner Cable, but I’m not spending any money this month,” might not be the best idea.
Still, it has been a good experience trying to spend as little as possible. I’ve found out that there are many awesome things in San Diego to do for free when you can be your wife’s plus one. Last night we went to an authentic Hawaiian Luau, on Shelter Island. The band was great, and the food was excellent.
Sadly, there are few events on the horizon that I can plus one my way into. Fortunately, one of the best free things ever is on the horizon. Yes… you know it… Free Slurpee Day.
